Layer Lifting

DER AaN Cheongdam layer-by-layer lifting design DERAaN Layer Lifting

Lifting by Layer is DER AaN Cheongdam's approach to lifting design: it looks at the skin in layers — epidermis · dermis · subcutaneous fat · SMAS (fascia) — and selects and combines devices suited to the layers where sagging and loss of firmness have begun.

Even when the sagging looks the same, the energy and depth needed differ depending on whether the dermis has thinned, the fat has drooped, or the fascia has descended. We plan DoubleTite · Sylfirm X · Sofwave · Thermage FLX · Belluti · Shock Wave · ONDA · Ultherapy PRIME separately, at the depth and in the order that suit each individual.

Lifting by Layer How it works

Texture and pores in the upper skin are handled by microneedle radiofrequency. DoubleTite delivers radiofrequency together with a treatment solution through 0.4mm · 1.0mm needles, and Sylfirm X sets the depth between 0.3–4.0mm to deliver radiofrequency to the dermis. In the mid-dermis, Sofwave's ultrasound reaches evenly to a depth of 1.5mm, and Thermage FLX uses radiofrequency to stimulate collagen across several layers of the dermis. Belluti, which uses pressure stimulation generated when a patch absorbs laser energy instead of heat, is also added for concerns in the dermis.

Below that, ONDA's microwaves (2.45GHz) and Shock Wave's pressure stimulation address the subcutaneous fat layer, while the focused ultrasound of Ultherapy PRIME addresses the SMAS (fascia) layer, confirming the depth on real-time imaging. Rather than covering every layer with a single device, the principle of Layer Lifting is to use the energy suited to each layer and to combine only the layers of concern.

Each layer calls for a different device

Once we find the layer where sagging and loss of firmness began, the device to use is decided. Select a device to see its detailed description.

Energy

We use four types of energy, each matched to its layer

  • Radio Frequency

    Radiofrequency (RF)

Radiofrequency heat energy stimulates collagen in the dermis. It can also be delivered directly to the desired depth through microneedles.

    DoubleTite · Sylfirm X · Thermage FLX

  • Ultrasound

    Ultrasound

Ultrasound energy is concentrated at a set depth. Sofwave works at 1.5mm in the dermis, while Ultherapy PRIME uses real-time imaging to see down to the SMAS layer.

  • Microwave

    Microwave

2.45GHz microwaves act selectively on the subcutaneous fat layer and also stimulate collagen in the dermis.

    ONDA

  • Laser Pressure Wave

    Laser pressure wave

A patch on the skin receives the 1064nm laser and delivers it as a pressure wave instead of heat. No heat is left on the surface.

POINT01

We start by looking at which layer has sagged

At consultation, we directly check skin thickness, the amount of fat and how far the fascia has descended. We first find the layer where sagging has begun, and choose the devices suited to that layer first.

POINT02

We use the devices divided by layer

The epidermis · upper dermis are assigned to DoubleTite · Sylfirm X, the dermis to Sofwave · Thermage FLX · Belluti, the subcutaneous fat to ONDA · Shock Wave, and the SMAS (fascia) to Ultherapy PRIME.

POINT03

Only the layers you need, only as much as you need

Rather than using every device at once, we select and combine only the layers of concern. The physician also personally determines the intervals and order between devices while monitoring your skin's response.

Lifting by Layer
Who it's for

  • 01 Those who have had lifting treatments several times but did not see the change they wanted
  • 02 Those concerned about skin texture · pores · loss of firmness along with sagging
  • 03 Those with both fat and sagging below the jawline
  • 04 Those who want a plan first for which devices suit their face
  • 05 Those who want natural improvement only where it is needed, without overdoing it

Lifting by Layer
Precautions

  1. Depending on the device, there may be redness · swelling · a feeling of warmth right after the procedure, which mostly subsides within a few days.
  2. When several devices are combined, whether to perform them on the same day or at intervals is decided according to the skin's response.
  3. For a few days after the procedure, please avoid saunas · excessive drinking · harsh exfoliation, and apply sunscreen.
  4. Effects and how long they last depend on skin condition and the combination used, and vary from person to person.

Lifting by Layer
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

These are the questions we are asked most often during consultations. Answers may vary depending on your individual skin condition.

Is Lifting by Layer a single device?
No. It is a planning approach that combines the lifting devices available at DER AaN Cheongdam, assigning them by skin layer. At consultation, we identify the layer where sagging has begun and choose the devices suited to that layer.
Do I need treatments with all the devices?
No. We select only the layers of concern and combine only the devices that are needed. In some cases, a single device is enough.
How do Ultherapy and Thermage differ?
Ultherapy PRIME uses focused ultrasound and is performed while confirming the depth down to the SMAS (fascia) layer, whereas Thermage FLX uses radiofrequency to stimulate collagen across several layers of the dermis. Because they address different layers, they are sometimes planned together.
Can I have treatments with several devices on the same day?
Depending on the combination and your skin condition, treatments may be done on the same day or split up at intervals. The physician sets the order and intervals while monitoring your skin's response.
How much does it cost?
This varies depending on which devices are combined, on which areas and to what extent, so we explain it after planning at consultation.
