Filling while regenerating Microscopic calcium particles
rebuild your own collagen

Radiesse is a regenerative filler made of synthetic calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres of 25–45 ㎛ in a water-based gel carrier. Volume appears immediately after injection, and once the gel is absorbed, the CaHA particles stimulate the formation of extracellular matrix such as type 1 and type 3 collagen and elastin.

Why Radiesse is different Three characteristics of a CaHA regenerative filler

  1. 3D render of CaHA microspheres and fibroblasts
    01 CaHA

Calcium particles with high viscosity and elasticity

CaHA microparticles measuring 25–45 ㎛ have high viscosity and elasticity, so they stay in place at the injection site rather than spreading. This property is advantageous for defining facial contours.

  2. Merz diagram showing how CaHA microspheres activate fibroblasts and the five components: type I collagen · type III collagen · elastin · proteoglycans · new blood vessels
    02 Regeneration

    Activates 5 regenerative components

It activates extracellular matrix proteins — type I and III collagen, elastin, proteoglycans and even new blood vessels — without an inflammatory reaction. From age 25, collagen decreases by 1–1.5% each year, and after 40 elastin begins to break down.

    03 Areas

From facial contours to the backs of the hands

It is used for facial contour and volume such as the jawline, chin, cheeks and temples, as well as for restoring volume to the backs of the hands where tendons have become visible. The plan is designed with undiluted and diluted preparations depending on the area.

How DER AaN Cheongdam works with Radiesse We assess the contour, decide the layer, and inject a measured amount

  1. SEEChecking contour and volume loss

We first assess volume loss in the jawline, cheeks and temples, along with skin thickness and face shape.

  2. PLANLayer · amount · dilution design by area

Undiluted for contouring and diluted for regeneration over wide areas — the plan differs for each area.

  3. TREATGenuine products · Full dosage · Performed by a Key Doctor

Dr. Kyungeun Lee, an official Merz Key Doctor, personally injects genuine Radiesse in the planned amount.

Questions Radiesse Q&A

Frequently asked questions

These are the questions we are asked most often during consultations. Answers may vary depending on your individual skin condition.

How much does Radiesse cost?
The cost of Radiesse varies depending on the treatment area (jawline · cheeks · temples · back of the hands), the number of syringes, and whether it is used undiluted or diluted. After assessing your contour and volume loss, we determine the amount needed and explain it during the consultation.
How is Radiesse different from hyaluronic acid fillers?
With hyaluronic acid fillers, the gel itself creates volume and is absorbed over time. Radiesse consists of calcium (CaHA) microparticles in a gel carrier; after the gel is absorbed, the CaHA stimulates collagen and elastin production so that your own collagen remains, and its high viscosity makes it suitable for shaping contours.
When do Radiesse results appear and how long do they last?
Volume is visible immediately after the procedure thanks to the gel carrier, and while the gel is absorbed the CaHA particles activate collagen production, so firmness builds gradually over several months. The collagen that has formed remains even after the gel is absorbed, and how long it lasts varies with the area, the injected volume and the individual.
Why is Radiesse diluted for treatment?
This is because the purpose differs by area. For contouring that defines a line, such as the jawline or the chin tip, we use the undiluted product; for regeneration of the cheeks or broad areas, we dilute it and spread it thinly to induce collagen production. Even within one face, we design the layers and amounts separately.
Can Radiesse cause side effects such as bruising or lumps?
Swelling, bruising, redness and tenderness may occur at the injection site, and most subside within a few days. As it is a highly viscous material, palpable clumping can occur if the injection layer and amount are not appropriate, so the layer, amount and dilution are planned for each area and injected along a route that reduces bruising and swelling.
Is Radiesse treatment painful?
Lidocaine is used to reduce discomfort, and the injection path is chosen to minimize bruising and swelling. The level of discomfort varies by area and individual, and is explained during the consultation before the procedure.

Results and how long they last may differ depending on individual skin condition, and our medical staff will explain possible side effects during the consultation.
